What is Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Program
Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Program is a major housing scheme started by the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in 2024. The program was launched to provide free homes and residential 3 marla plots to the most underprivileged and homeless citizens of the Punjab. It ensures that every low-income family has access to secure and dignified housing, especially widows, orphans, and those living below the poverty line.
This program began in selected areas in Phase 1, where survey teams identified truly needy people. You don’t only receive a plot, you’ll receive a fully developed house. After successful registration, the construction of the plot will start within six months and will last for 2 years. All houses are built with basic facilities like water, electricity, and sewerage. Plots are given out transparently with no middleman and bribes.
This program works alongside other government schemes like Apni Chatt, Maryam ki dastak, and Roshan Gharana program, which shows the government’s focus on welfare. This apna ghar scheme supports the CM’s vision of “Housing for All.” It is managed by the Punjab Housing & Town Planning Agency, under the supervision of the Housing and Urban Development Department.
The registration for phase 1 has been rolled out, and phase 2 will start soon with more districts of Punjab. This program is helping turn dreams of owning a safe and decent home into reality for many poor families in Punjab.
